This is my first blog post! Forgive me if I don't seem like I know what I'm doing (because I don't)! This blog will probably be quite primitive-looking for a while til I get the hang of it. But I figured, if anyone should blog, it's me, because as you'll see, I have a LOT to say!
My little one is actually napping today (YAY!), because she had shots earlier (BOO!), so I have a little bit of free time on my hands to play around with this. I've had this blog for about 2 years I think, and I've never posted anything! But I'm currently on maternity leave, so I've actually got some time to put into this! This leave has been awesome. I work for the phone company in our area, and they allow you took take up to a year of unpaid leave. I am so blessed that I was able to save up enough to be able to take the whole year off if I want. It will be a little tough, but it's SO worth it, and you bet I'm going to take as much time as I possibly can! I truly think this year, even if it's mostly spent in spit-up covered pajamas, is going to be the most rewarding of my life Not only do I get to dedicate my time to my baby and encourage her development, but I also get to put more time into my photography and help that flourish as well! I wish I could've afforded to stay home a full year with my first two. Though, after the full 6 weeks off, I went back for 1/2 days up to their 1st birthdays. So that was good, too!
My little lady is now 4 months old, and I'm so happy to be able to give her unlimited time and attention. She's my last baby, so I'm soaking in every single second with a smile. Even when she wakes up for that 2am feeding, I can't wait to be able to scoop her up. I'd say I'm a tad bit addicted! The doctor asked today when I'm going back to work. I told her I can stay out til May when my little one turns 1, but 'I may go back 1 day a week starting February. She suggested I stay out until April if I can, due to the horrid flu season in February. Hey, sounds good to me! HAHA!
Last night I started a google+ account, too! I know, right? Getting real tech-savvy over here! Haha! Seriously, though, I'm probably one of the most
NON-techy people ever. Well, maybe not
ever...my mom still freaks out a little when she tries to use a computer mouse. Even though I'm really pretty un-techy (is that a word?), I usually always find a way to get 'er done. <--Yes, I really just said that. Ugh...maternity leave is doing something to me, I think!
I recently gave my website,
www.RaVisionsPhotography.com, a facelift. It's really looking pretty spiffy, if you ask me! At least, compared to what it was. I did it all by myself! Even though what should've taken me 2 hours, instead took a
week, I did it! I'm pretty proud of myself! I think I visit the site at least 3 times a day. It never changes, but I'm just so proud that
I did that, so I have to hop over and admire it! Haha! I figured it needed a makeover since I just recently got a new logo designed for RaVisions. I also made my own facebook tab on my facebook business page that links to my website. Yes, I figured it out and made it all by myself, and it WORKS! Oh, the power of the internet...it can make even the most un-techy person look like a computer whiz! So all around, lots of new things going on in the RaVisions Photography world! New logo, new Google+, new (old) blog, etc.
I just finished two shoots yesterday. In the morning, I met up with Mason and his mom, Autumn, for Mason's fall photos. I absolutely ADORE taking photos of kids. There's just something so innocent and pure about their photos. You don't have to pose them. All you've got to do is engage them, and you've got a shot with so much expression, so natural. Mason started out near some apple trees. He end up climbing up one of them, and said he was just gonna hang out there for a while! Haha! I was fine with that! After hanging out in the apple tree, we went over and played with a jar of gumballs. I have to fib a little and tell the kiddos that they're fake (for obvious reasons). After playing with the gumballs, Mason told me about his favorite episode of Big Bang Theory (the bird episode), and then proceeded to sing "Soft Kitty" to me! Hahahahaha!!! What a HOOT! Oh, so much fun! Here's Mason's preview that I put up on the facebook page as well.

My afternoon session was a family session, but they also brought along a couple friends. So we did the family session, and did a few photos of the 3 friends together! These girls are in the 8th grade, and were SO much fun! I can't wait til my baby girl has friends over! I hope it's as much fun as it was with these 3! They LOVED the camera, which made my job SUPER easy! Here's a preview:
